If anyone doubts that Tara Trevethan has made her imprint on the restaurant scene in South Florida, they obviously didn’t attend her recent grand opening party at the beautifully appointed eatery at 1430 SE 17th Street Causeway.
Tara’s Steak & Lobster House certainly lived up to its name, with a carving station that featured steak that melted in your mouth, rack of lamb, prime rib and numerous other delicacies.
A special touch, obviously one of the trademarks of restaurant openings by this 25-year-old beauty, was butler-style served sweet corn in oversized spoons and they were going as fast as the waiter brought them on the floor. Rumaki, egg rolls and numerous other dishes were served the overflow crowd.
Among the group were Connie Cheney, Jack Loos, Mary Ann Richter, Bob Allard and Frank and Mary Jo Herhold and of course, Tara’s mom, Jeanie Trevethan, also a successful restaurateur.
Fort Lauderdale Commissioner Cindi Huthinson and Christopher Pollock, president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, assisted in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Tevethan has already made a mark at her well-renowned Marco Island eatery, which earner near perfect marks in Zagat for serving “what might be the best Porterhouse steak around” and boasting a stellar Wine Spectator Grand Award winning wine list.
You can bet the Fort Lauderdale Tara’s will meet the mark as well. Congratulations to this dynamic young entrepreneur.
