Tara J. Trevethan, Owner and General Manger of the famed Marco Island restaurant, Tara Steak & Lobster House, has brought that establishment’s renowned service and fine dining to South Florida with the opening of her second location in Fort Lauderdale.

Tara, a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University in Business & Restaurant Management, was groomed in the art of running a successful restaurant by her father, Richie Trevethan, who recently passed away and left the day-to-day operations of the business to his daughter and the restaurant’s namesake.

At 25, Tara also assumes the role of President & COO of TGR Holdings, LLC – the restaurant’s parent corporation where she is responsible for maintaining the restaurant’s uncompromising levels of quality, consistency, and superior guest relations and for branding the Tara Steak & Lobster House name with those ideals. As General Manager, Tara oversees the daily operations of both Tara locations and is responsible for employee training and management; advertising and promotions; maintaining a quality kitchen and dining environment; inventory control; meeting budgetary goals; and keeping abreast of current market and industry trends in order to improve the business and reduce competition.

Prior to her current position, Tara honed her skills by serving as an Assistant Manager for a period of four years at another Marco Island eatery, Kahuna.

Currently Tara is a member of the Florida Restaurant Association, the National Restaurant Association, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, and GNI Network.
